The League of Women Voters®, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

Positions of LWV of Marion & Polk Counties, Oregon	LWV Principles: The League believes that government policy, programs and performance must meet these criteria: competent personnel with clear responsibilities, coordination among agencies and levels of government, adequate financing, effective enforcement, and well-defined channels for citizen input and review.
Current Studies	These reports are on topics the League is currently studying.
LWV Study Reports	The League of Women Voters of Marion and Polk Counties, Oregon, studies local issues and prepares reports for use by our members and the public. In preparing a report, each League study committee gathers information from as many sources as possible in order to prepare an unbiased report. Positions reached after consensus (member agreement) are given in the Positions section.
